Philosophy Statement

My mission as an Early Childhood professional is to provide quality education in a safe and healthy environment that promotes higher learning.  My goal is educate at a level at which my students are able to be a productive part of society.  Society is the arena where your education, morals and common sense are displayed among the citizens of or communities. As an educator it is my job to ensure that my students understand all aspects of cultural, cognitive and physical diversity.   I will pattern my teachings according to the study of Epistolary.  Epistemology is the study of knowledge and understanding.  Once a student has become knowledgeable of the material that is covered it is then my job to aid in the understanding process.  Understanding is the key to success.  The wonderful thing about learning is that is an ongoing process.  Early childhood is where early vital learning skills are implemented.  Children’s are similar to a blank slate meaning, there is room for learning and their young minds are open to new facts, information and ideas.  As a teacher I will invest my time in making sure the youth of today are properly educated so moving forward they are able to become future leaders, productive citizens and implement what they have learned in order to better or society.  Learning does in fact start in the home however teachers play a substantial role in the development of young children.  My teachings are designed to enhance and exercise the three domains of child development; social- emotional, physical aptitude and cognitive learning.  My curriculum will incorporate constructive play which can be beneficial psychologically, educationally, culturally and anthropologically.  My curriculum will also implement Vgosky’s, Zone of proximal development, where children will be motivated to reach higher standards, and staff will be there to assist by scalfoling.  Also being sensitive to the differential of each child’s learning ability.  Montessori, High Scope, are programs that demonstrate higher learning, independence  and self-initiative.  As an Early Childhood educator, my curriculum would be geared more toward a Head Start program or maybe a Child Care Assistance Program.  With these programs mentioned my curriculum would still reflect my mission, beliefs and theories.  Due to society’s lack of resources and health care these programs are designed to not only educate student but parents as well.   These programs educate parents on the importance eating properly, and keeping immunizations and dental care up to date.  The Head Start programs also allocate funding for low income families ensuring the all children get the opportunity for proper education in a healthy environment.  Parent involvement plays a large role in the programs’ success.   Parents are offered family literacy in order to help parents help their children.   My passion is educate young children so that the future of our society will be in the hands of educated, well rounded individuals.  I will strive to foster healthy children and families and promote higher education through dynamic programming.
